History of the department

The Department of Pharmaceutical and Toxicological Chemistry was organized in 1981. Since its opening until 1989, the department was headed by the Director of the ASMI Affiliate, E.T.Tegisbayev, Ph.D., associate professor. From 1989 to 2012 the department was headed by the laureate of the State Prize, Ph.D. T.A. Arystanova. Since 2012 the chair is headed by Ordabayeva S.K., Doctor of pharmaceutical sciences, professor.

The formation and development of the department made a great contribution Rakhimova B.H., Merkusheva N.V., Mendibayev B.T., Kadyrova R.D., R.M. Myrzabayeva, Zadorozhnaya E.V. Arystanova T.A., Shukirbekova A.B. and A.O. Sopbekova, Ordabayeva S.K., G.A. Maralbayeva working today.

A significant contribution to the organization of the Black Sea Fleet ASMI, the formation of the department of pharmaceutical and toxicological chemistry, the creation of material and technical base, provision of human resources made Tegisbayev E.T. Only the Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry prepared 9 candidates of pharmaceutical sciences through targeted graduate at leading universities and research institutes. 

Huge contribution to the formation and development of the department was made by Arystanova T.A., laureate of the state prize of the Republic of Kazakhstan, doctor of pharmaceutical sciences, professor. She trained 2 doctors, 14 candidates of pharmaceutical sciences. Under her leadership, 1 international and 3 republican scientific and technical projects funded by the Ministry of health of the RK, the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan were implemented.

The purpose of the department is the preparation of highly of the USSR. 

qualified, competitive professionals with deep theoretical and practical training, professional competencies in the field of pharmaceutical and chemical-toxicological analysis

The main tasks of the department:

• training of specialists with deep theoretical and practical training, professional knowledge, skills and corresponding skills to the state educational standards of the specialty.

• maximum use and development of the methodological and human resources accumulated in previous years.

• development of a creative start for students and teaching staff.

 

The department is a profile, producing, where students of 2, 3, 4, 5 courses of the pharmaceutical faculty specialize in the following specialties: 5В110300 - "Pharmacy" and 5В074800 - "Pharmaceutical production technology" in kazakh, english and russian languages. The training of undergraduates I, II year of training in specialty 6М110400- "Pharmacy" in two directions: scientific and pedagogical and profile. Students of the faculty of training specialists with technical vocational education (FTSwTVE) are trained in 2.3 courses in kazakh and russian.

The department within the specialty "Pharmacy" carries out the preparation of bachelors on the trajectories: general pharmacist, pharmacy manager, clinical pharmacist; the engineer-technologist on maintenance of the equipment and equipment, the engineer-designer - the designer on a specialty "the Technology of pharmaceutical manufacture".

In accordance with the State Educational Establishment of the Republic of Kazakhstan in 2017 (baccalaureate) in the specialty 5В110300 - "Pharmacy", obligatory disciplines are taught at the department:

1. General methods of research and analysis of medicines, 90 hours (2 credits), 3 courses, 6 semester, teaching in kazakh, english, russian.

2. Pharmaceutical chemistry, 180 hours (4 credits), 4 year, 8 semester, teaching in kazakh, english, russian.

3. Toxicological chemistry, 180 hours (4 credits), 5 year, 9 semester, teaching in kazakh, russian.

 

The number of components by choice (elective disciplines) includes the following:

1. Physico-chemical methods of analysis in pharmacy, 90 hours (2 credits), 2 courses, 4 semester, teaching in kazakh, english, russian.

2. Analysis of natural biologically active compounds, 180 hours (4 credits), 4 courses, 7 semester, teaching in kazakh, english, russian.

3. Standardization of medicines and metrology 90 hours (2 credits), 5 year, 9 semester, teaching in kazakh, english, russian.

4. Bioanalytical chemistry and toxicology, 90 hours (2 credits), 5 year, 10 semester, teaching in kazakh, russian.

 

The production practice is conducted: "Quality control and standardization of medicines" 75 hours (1 credit); "Toxicological chemistry", 75 hours (1 credit).

In accordance with the State Educational Establishment of the Republic of Kazakhstan in 2017 (bachelor) in the specialty 5B074800 - "Technology of pharmaceutical production", the obligatory discipline "Chemistry and Technology of Synthetic Medicines" is taught at the department, 90 hours (2 credits), 3 courses, 6 semester, teaching in kazakh , russian languages.

Among the components of choice (elective subjects) in this specialty are the following:

1. General chemical technology, 135 hours (3 credits), 3 courses, 5 semester, teaching in kazakh, russian;

2. Methods and equipment for pharmaceutical analysis, 90 hours (2 credits), 4 courses, 7 semester, teaching in Kazakh, Russian;

Modular educational programs (MEP) have been developed, the Bachelor's EMC has been revised:

1. МEP «Quality control of medicines I»: 

• General methods of research and analysis of medicines (3 courses, 2 credits);

• Analysis of natural biological active compounds, (4 courses, 4 credits).

2. МEP «Quality control of medicines II»:

• Pharmaceutical chemistry (4 courses, 4 credits);

• Standardization of medicines and metrology (5 courses, 2 credits);

• Production practice: "Quality control and standardization of medicines" (5 courses, 1 credits).

3. МEP "Toxicological chemistry":

• Physicochemical methods of analysis in pharmacy, (2 courses, 2 credits);

• Toxicological chemistry (5 courses, 4 credits);

• Bioanalytical chemistry and toxicology (5 courses, 2 credits);

• Production practice: "Toxicological chemistry", 75 hours (5 courses, 1 credits).

4. МEP «Chemical technology»:

• General chemical technology, (3 courses, 3credits);

• Chemistry and technology of synthetic medicines (3 courses, 2 credits);

• Methods and equipment for pharmaceutical analysis (4 courses, 2 credits).

 

At the level of the master's degree in the specialty "Pharmacy" the following disciplines are taught: "Instrumental methods of analysis", "Structural analysis of medicinal products", "Methodology for the implementation of dissertational works", "Production status and quality control of medicines", "GLP rules new medicines ". To date, the department has trained 10 masters of pharmacy, 4 - at the preparation stage.

Students of 2-3 courses of the faculty of training specialists with technical vocational education (FTSwTVE) in the specialty "Pharmacy" study the discipline "Pharmaceutical Chemistry".

Employees of the department conducted a purposeful work on the research direction of the department "Search, creation and introduction of medicines on the basis of domestic plant raw materials."

The scientific priorities of the department are:

1. Purposeful search and preparation of new modified substances on the basis of biologically active compounds of licorice root components, wormwood citrine;

2. Creation and standardization of effective and safe combined MP based on phytopreparations and synthetic drugs;

3. Development and improvement of methods for the analysis of drugs using physical and chemical methods;

4. Chemical-toxicological analysis of potent and toxic substances.

 

Employees of the department carry out scientific and technical projects:

1. Currently, the work on international initiatives scientific and technological project "Development of the original, effective and safe drug prostatoprotektor-leg action on the basis of domestic vegetable raw materials." Research carried out in collaboration with the LLP «PHYTO-APIPHARM» (Shymkent), the National Pharmaceutical University (Kharkiv). Implementation Period: 2015-2017 years.

2. Scientific and technical project "Development of effective and safe medicinal preparations based on domestic plant material." Term of realization: 2018-2021.

 

Employees of the department are authors of state compulsory education standards of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the specialties: 0902 - "Management in the social sphere (pharmacy)" (State Educational Establishment of the Republic of Kazakhstan, 1998); 0409 - "Technology of pharmaceutical production" (State Educational Establishment of the Republic of Kazakhstan, 1998); 051103- "Pharmacy" ("Bachelor" of the State Educational Establishment of the Republic of Kazakhstan, 2006); 7.09.111 - "Pharmacy" ("Master degree" of the State Educational Establishment of the Republic of Kazakhstan, 2009); 5В110300 "Pharmacy" ("Bachelor" of the State Educational Establishment of the Republic of Kazakhstan, 2017 with additions and changes).

Employees of the department are co-authors of 16 standard educational programs on disciplines of specialties "Management in social sphere (pharmacy)", "Pharmacy", "Technology of pharmaceutical production".

Employees of the department developed: preliminary patents of the RK - 24, registration certificates for medicines - 5, temporary pharmacopoeial articles - 5, more than 650 scientific works, including about 200 in international publications, materials of scientific forums (USA, Russia, Austria, Italy , Finland, Thailand, Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Ukraine, etc.), in republican - more than 400, 5 monographs, 9 reviews, 13 teaching aids, 2 laboratory practical works were published.

The chair conducts certain work on international cooperation in the framework of the educational process and research work.

Great support in the development of the department was provided by the pharmaceutical faculty of the Moscow State Medical University. THEM. Sechenov, led by Academician Arzamastsev A.P., who organized field lectures, seminars, consultations of professors of this institution. Under the leadership Arzamastsev A.P. 3 candidates of pharmacological sciences were trained for the department.

Joint educational programs have been developed with foreign partner universities: the WEP for Production Practices "Quality Control and Standardization of Medicines", approved by the Scientists of the SKMMA Council and the First Moscow State Medical University. THEM. Sechenov (2014); similar to the WEP, approved by the Scientists of the Councils of SKMA and BSMU (2016, 2018);

A joint methodical manual "Quality control and drug standardization" was issued, approved by the Scientific Council of SKMA and the First Moscow State Medical University (2014), supplemented and republished in 2018 (Moscow: GEOTAR-Media).

Since 2013, within the framework of the program of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan to attract foreign teachers to the academic process "Academic Mobility", the leading scientists of partner universities are being visited: professors Ramenskaya GV, associate professors Pechennikova VM, Vlasova A. M., Smirnova V.V. (I MGMU, Moscow, Russian Federation); assistant professor Bevz N.Yu. (NFAU, Kharkov, Ukraine); Professor Khaliullin F.A. (BSMU, Ufa, Russia); Prof. J. Yampilek (University of Veterinary and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Brno, Czech Republic); Ass. Professor B.Velgomas (State Medical University, Gdansk, Republic of Poland); Professor A. Shukirbekova. (MU "Astana", the Republic of Kazakhstan), etc.

External Visiting of Professor S.K. Ordabayeva was carried out on the bases of BSMU and GMU with the purpose of conducting master classes, practical classes and exchange of experience in research work.

Since 2015, the department annually on the basis of the educational and scientific laboratory accepts students of the First Moscow State University. Sicenov and Bashkir State Medical University for the passage of the production practice "Quality control and standardization of medicines".

A dual degree education is carried out among 5th-year students for a combination of theoretical training in the discipline "Standardization of medicines and metrology" at the Department of Pharmaceutical and Toxicological Chemistry with practical training on the production base of JSC "Khimpharm" -Santo Member of the Polpharma Group.

The student scientific circle "Pharmacy of the future" is organized from the number of students of 3-5 courses who actively participate in the annual scientific and practical conferences, forums and symposia of young scientists and student youth. More than 20 students are winners of annual scientific and practical conferences of young scientists and students.
